Dear students,
Each year, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen will expect a bunch of freshmen to come aboard and start a new life here. The Office of Student Affairs is going to prepare the Freshmen Handbook to provide pertinent information about studying at CUHK-Shenzhen and living in Shenzhen.
The Office of Student Affairs is currently recruiting students to join our Executive Committee for 2021 Freshmen Handbook production:
- If you are interested in art and design
- If you are keen on the creation of engaging content and communication
- If you are passionate about storytelling and writing
- If you love English and would like to get in touch with Chinese-English translation
We strongly encourage students to get involved in this project, as indeed, it is an excellent opportunity to spread your creative ideas, share knowledge, and bolster your professionalism before you land your first job within the marketing industry.
If you are interested in working with us, please read through the following information thoroughly. The Executive Committee consists of 4 departments:
1. Directorial Department
The primary responsibilities include developing a comprehensive work plan based on the big picture, monitoring timelines, managing people and meeting minutes, as well as managing financial controls, forging external relationships, and negotiating with a variety of stakeholders.
2. Curating Department
The primary responsibilities include the creation of engaging content to be put into the Freshmen Handbook.
3. Design Department
The primary responsibilities include producing creative design, managing Handbook layout, illustration and visual effects of the Handbook. (Basic skills in design is preferred)
4. Translation Department
The primary responsibilities include translating Chinese to English for the English version of the Handbook.
By working on this project, we would like to offer you:

- A certificate of your contribution to the 2020 Freshmen Handbook
- Training in essential working skills and soft skills
To be successful in this role, you will be a passionate, responsible, attention to detail, value-driven individual. Please be kindly noted that:
· The Committee will be working and meeting regularly online during this summer vacation from late June to mid-August, please consider your schedule carefully before making your application
· Students are required to be involved in the whole project and complete all the allocated work for earning the certificate
