The spring is coming, with flowers in full bloom and grasses in cheerful green. In this charming season, why not bury yourself in the beauty of books and forget yourself in reading?

Activities Department of the Student Union is coming up with the activity of Reading Week. Details of series activities are as follow:

Competition of Imitating Pictures Shown in Books

1. Time of registration: April 15th to 11:59 pm on April 22nd

2. Way of registration: please click the link https://www.wjx.cn/vj/OBxmN85.aspx to fill in your information and upload your work.

3. Content of the competition: participators can choose their favorite cover or illustration picture in books and imitate the composition or characters to take a photo. Please upload your photo and the picture you imitate to the questionnaire.

4. Way to appraise: works of participators will be voted in the WeChat push, which will be released on April 25th. Participators who get the top two votes will be awarded calligraphy work written by president Xu.

Book Discussion Conference

1. Time of activity: there are two optional choices for time. The first conference starts at 7:30 pm and ends at 8:20 pm. The theme of it will be the Troubleshooters. The second conference starts at 8:30 pm and ends at 9:30 pm, the theme of which is Flipped.

2. Venue of activity: 3rd floor of Le Tian Building.

3. Process of activity: Firstly, Dr. Lin Chengchuan will guide students to read original books in different roles. Then, participators will watch movie pieces adapted from books together. Lastly, participators will have a free-discussion and try to understand the literature work better.

4. Time for registration: April 15th to 11:59 pm on April 19th.

6. Prizes: After each conference, we will choose one student who performs most actively. Dr. Lin will be the award presenter and the prize will be calligraphy works written by President Xu.

Students who are interested in participating in the discussion conference should be noted that:

1. Due to the limit of venue, only 25 seats are available for each conference. The final list will be determined by the time of filling in the questionnaire. You can sign up for two conferences at the same time. Students who sign up successfully will receive an email.

2. We provide tea break during the discussion conference. Due to the change in epidemic controlling policy, it may be adjusted then.

3. If the activity is changed to the online form, we will inform participators in advance.

 

Try to Start a New Book

1. Time of activity: April 18th to April 22nd, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm

2. Venue of activity: Between teaching building C and D

3. Content of activity: students can choose their favorite book on-site and finish reading the first chapter. After reading the first chapter, students may find staff and answer the designed questions. If you answer all the questions correctly, you can get the whole book and take it away.

4. We will provide free coffee. Due to the change in epidemic policy, it may be adjusted then.

Find and Guess Riddles

1. Time for activity: April 18th to April 22nd

2. Venue for activity: inside Bowen bookstore

3. Content of activity: students should find silk ribbons hidden in the bookstore. On each of the ribbon there is a riddle. If you want to have a guess, you can contact our staff and check the answer. What’s more, you can create your own riddle and write on the ribbons. Please give your answer to the staff and register for it. Students who answer correctly or create own riddle can get small gifts such as bookmarks or desk decorations.

Warm reminder: most of the riddles are related to books. For example, “fight or not to fight”, guess a name of a book. Do you have your own answer?

Street Interview

1. Time of activity: April 18th to April 20th

2. Content of activity: staff will randomly choose students to ask questions about reading. Students who accept the interview will receive small gifts such as bookmarks or desk decorations.
