2020.05.28

On May 21st and 28th, CUHK-Shenzhen Social Practice Center held two lectures themed "Seeing Each Other Across the Epidemic". During the epidemic outbreak, some groups of people rarely appeared in the spotlight of the media but made silent efforts to fight the epidemic. Relying on the “leverage” of platforms and communities, it connects resources that transcends borders and regions. In the first lecture, “The Power of Community in Coping with the Coronavirus Outbreak”, SPC invited Ms. Shanshan He from NANFENG Social Work Service and Mr. Mingjin Tang from NPI Charity Organization to talk about their anti-epidemic work done in the international community as well as the epidemic area in Wuhan. In the second lecture, “The Epidemic Bemuses People?” , SPC invited Mr. Cai from BottleDream, a media of social innovation, and Mr. He Jia from Dayu Community Establishment and Development Center to share the story of "willfulness" behind the "resilient" youth. Although the epidemic worsened and threw people's plans this years into chaos, we can always try and achieve something unplanned that we've always wanted to do after shrugging off the initial confusion.
