German poets and playwrights once said: “Reading a good book is like talking to many noble people.” The fifth issue of the Co-reading plan of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen would like to invite hard-working students to read the French literary romantic writer’s masterpiece, as “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandra Dumas. We would like to invite everyone to enter into the 19^th century, the period of French emperor Napoleon’s “Hundred Days”.

Dumas is one of the most popular and prolific French romantic writers and literary masters in the 19^th century. The father of literature, Victor Hugo, also once commented that “His personality is as refreshing as the summer thunderstorm.  He is a loveable person. He is a dense cloud, he is thunder, he is lighting, but he has never hurt people. Everyone knows that he is gentle and generous, just like a good rain in the drought.”

We sincerely invite every student from the CUHK(SZ) to join the co-reading plan together, persevere in reading, and enrich the food of life daily!
