Dear Graduates,

As graduation is around the corner, please note the important messages below regarding your medical insurance suspension. 

According to Shenzhen Social Security Bureau’s relevant regulations, for students who have purchased the 2021 University students’ medical insurance, the coverage will expire on August 31, 2022, and your University students’ medical insurance will be automatically terminated after the expiration date.

If graduates get employed in Mainland China before August 31, 2022, and need to attend workforce’s medical insurance, in that case, you will need to terminate your University students’ medical insurance plan first and transit to the medical insurance plan in your workforce afterward. Otherwise, you will not be able to receive social security coverage, which includes pension funds, medical insurance, industrial injury insurance, unemployment insurance, and maternity insurance. It is required to bring your identity card or your medical insurance card to complete the termination through the self-service terminal machine. 

The following nearby social security stations or campus clinics are recommended for graduates to terminate the University students’ medical insurance plan:

·      Self-service terminal machine is available at the campus clinic on both the upper and lower campuses. Students need to carry identity cards or social medical insurance cards for the termination service. Tel:0755-84273120.

·      Besides, it is also available at the Shenzhen Social Security Bureau of Longgang Substation. The address is 8031 Longxiang Blvd., Longgang District, Shenzhen. Students need to carry an identity card or social medical insurance card for the termination service. Tel:0755-28921510

Important notes:

·      If you plan to study overseas after graduating from CUHK-Shenzhen, please refer your medical insurance to the University where you will enroll. 

·      After graduation, graduates can no longer participate in the University students’ medical insurance plan.
